Wow, what a cool colour experiment we did this week!!!
Yesterday we did another neat science experiment with a variety of ingredients. We used a plate/bowl, 2% milk, food colouring (green, red, yellow, blue), q-tips and dish soap.
We poured the milk into the bowl and added three drops of each colour to the centre of the milk.
Once we had all the colours added to the centre of the milk, we dipped our q-tip in the dish soap. To make our experiment work, we dipped the end of our q-tip (with soap) into the centre of the food colouring (do not mix the colours up or the experiment will not work). We carefully watched as the food colouring repelled the dish soap on the q-tip, causing the colours to EXPLODE!
During the experiment the students commented on how the colours turned into a RAINBOW!
Ask your child about this experiment! We all loved to watch the colours explode into a rainbow! It is very easy to do at home so if you want, your child can show you and their loved ones what we did in science this week!!
