Next week in Junior Kindergarten we will be learning all about our community! We will be going to the Fire Hall on October 2nd for a tour and the kids will learn all about how firefighters keep us safe in our community. We will also be having a special guest into our classroom on October 1st. Dylan Harris is a Calgary police officer and he will be coming in to talk to the students about his role in the community and how he keeps us all safe.
During class we have already discussed some of the things we will see and do. Students have recognized that police officers and firefighters help us with floods, fires, bad guys, keeping us safe on the streets etc.
I know that this will be a very beneficial week for the kids and they will have lots of fun learning about the community they are a part of! Talk to your kids about some of the questions they could ask both the police officer and firefighters that we get to meet next week!!
