Our Who Would Win Inquiry project with our Grade Four Buddies has been an absolute BLAST!
We had a chance to meet up with our buddies to conclude some of our research between our two animals. Our buddies taught us how to do research using factual books, as well as safely searching on the internet with our iPads! We also decided on the final competition that our animals would engage in.
We came up with some funny ideas such as:
Between a Horse and a Unicorn, who would win stacking apples on their head?
Between a Piranha and a Lion, who would win eating 20 apple pies?
Between a Deer and a Grizzly Bear, who would win flying an airplane?
Between a Honey Badger and a Tasmanian Devil, who would win flying in a parachute?
This week we are excited to complete the Scholastic Who Would Win contest with our buddies. Entering this contest will be exciting as we will have the opportunity to share our work with others! We will also have the opportunity to win a digital camera for our classroom that we can use to show off our work even more!
We are also looking forward to creating a classroom picture book of our work, sharing our fun and imaginative stories with other people in our school!
Check out our entries that we have sent to Scholastic:
In a contest between Ox and Elephant, the Ox would win! The contest is getting the best haircut and Ox would win because he has more fur!
In a contest between Honey Badger and Tasmanian Devil, the Tasmanian Devil would win! The contest is flying in a parachute. Tasmanian Devil wins because he is lighter and can float up higher.
In a contest between T-Rex and Dragon, the T-Rex would win! The contest is who is the biggest and T-Rex wins because he is bigger and Dragon.
In a contest between Lion and Piranha, the Piranha would win! The contest is who would eat 20 pies the fastest. The Piranha wins because he chews things apart easily.
In a contest between Unicorn and Horse, the unicorn would win! The contest is who could balance the most apples on their head. The Unicorn has a horn so she can balance them better.
In a contest between Cat and Rat, the Rat would win! The contest is eating pies. The Rat wins because he eats more food than the Cat!
In a contest between Lion and Leopard, the Leopard would win! The contest is swimming and the Leopard wins because he has more grip on his feet and he doesn’t have a fuzzy man to slow him down like the Lion does.
In a contest between Raccoon and Shark, the Raccoon would win! The contest is a stomping contest and Raccoon wins because he can stomp the most and Shark can only jump out of the water and then he would die from no water.
In a contest between Frog and Lion, the Lion would win! The contest is who gets a better haircut. Lion was because he has more fur than the Frog.
In a contest between Cow and Pig, Cow would win! He is sneakier than the Pig and sneaks past the guide without constantly saying “oink, oink, oink”.
In a contest between Elk and Reindeer, Elk would win! The contest is a race and the Elk is way faster than the Reindeer.
In a contest between Shark and Tiger, the Tiger would win! The contest is picking seaweed and the Tiger wins because he can grab the seaweed with sharp claws.
In a contest between a Deer and a Grizzly Bear, the Grizzly Bear would win! The contest is a race and the Grizzly Bear wins because he is the fastest in the world!
In a contest between a Cheetah and a Shark, the Cheetah would win! He is faster than the Shark and the Shark wouldn’t do well without water.
In a contest between Raccoon and Mouse, the Mouse would win! The contest is who can blend in better and the Mouse wins because he is the same colour as the dirt.
Oh do I ever love what these kiddos come up with!
Wish Us Luck!!!
